Would creating a video game store where you buy, play, and enter tournaments in Manhattan be profitable?

Would this idea be a profitable business.
I would have a store where you can buy video game products and trade them in. You can also enter weekly or daily tournaments to win cash or prizes.

The place would have (of course) many TV’s, systems, and Computer where gamers could play.
I would love to locate the store in Manhattan, New York.
Can anyone tell me if this is a good or bad idea, and tips?

i’m sure that there are already established companies there, like Gamestop. these business are already flourishing. you would have to compete against those guys. the tourneys may get a little pricey, especially in the beginning when not many people know about your store. i really don’t know too much about starting a store. but i do know that starting any store is a big risk because you are putting so much into it. i’m not saying it is impossible for you to succeed in making this store, but there are definitely going to be risks

As stated by another answerer(?) there are many well established stores already opened with that type of business your interested in. My suggestion would be to open the store in an area that there aren’t many large retailers so there not much competition for sales. Also, the tournaments sounds cool but I’m not sure how large of a scene it is in the New York City area.
